Some Poetry

I have been very inspired by this book I'm reading called Becoming Wise, which explores the mystery of the human condition. Favorite section so far is an inquiry into why words matter: the specific words we choose, how we communicate with each other, and how we move through the world. Gracefully? Recklessly? With conviction?

Marie Howe's poetry sums up the ideal perspective:

...bedeviled, / human, your plight, in waking, is to choose from the words / that even now sleep on your tongue, and to know that tangled / among them and terribly new / is the sentence that could change your life.
